ABOUT

As clinicians, we all experience greater chemistry with some patients more than others.   That chemistry can be platonic, therapeutic, and or sexual.  These feelings create an energy that can manifest as playful, invigorating and or motivating to both therapist and patient.   Using that energy in constructive ways can produce beautiful therapeutic outcomes.  But when erotic transference and countertransference start to overwhelm and lead to boundary violations, it’s important to get the right kind of support.     I created this site to share what I have learned in what has been the most excruciating three years of my life and as yet unresolved.   TNIS was built to offer a compassionate and confidential space for reflection, education and recovery.  As clinicians we are in the business of helping others transform traumatic events into meaning.  Beyond what you go through with the law and the licensing board, finding humility, grace and forgiveness will be your biggest and most important task.    I would like to thank all the clinicians, attorneys, friends and family who have helped me through this time and I hope this site will help you (as clinicians and medical professionals)  navigate your erotic feelings, the legal system, the Licensing Board and the unconscious relics in your history that might make you vulnerable to bad decisions.  Our mission is to provide the resources, guidance and community needed to navigate the consequences of ethical violations, rebuild professional integrity and to prevent future transgressions.   Through continuous learning, peer support and expert advice, TNIS aims to foster accountability while advocating for the well-being of all involved.
